PERFORMANCE

Live music, made close to home.

in Good Company is a jazz trio, drawing on the music of Gershwin and Cole Porter alongside newer jazz-inspired artists like Laufey and Olivia Dean. Vanessa Dunleavy's soulful vocals are backed by two jazz veterans, Bill Vitek on piano and Ron White on upright bass. Whether it's a private event, a party, or just a good night out, in Good Company brings warmth, musicianship, and a genuine connection to the room.

Showing Up
Original Musical

I co-wrote Showing Up with Miranda Ferris Jones, my best friend since the awkward years. It’s a story only the two of us could tell: real sisterhood, real ambition, real mess.

Showing Up is a new musical about two Vermont girls who find they’re bent on hitting the same trifecta: romance, family, and a trophy-case-full of Tony awards. Oh, and they pledge to do it all side by side. Preferably in matching outfits.

But New York holds a few surprises for them, and apparently there’s this thing called sexism? If they’re going to survive, these two bighearted, blunder-prone besties will have to find new ways to show up for each other.

This semi-semi autobiographical musical is best described as Broad City meets The Last Five Years, exploring motherhood, identity, and friendship with humor and a vibrant score.

“Music is the shorthand of emotion.”

— Leo Tolstoy
